It wasn’t just fans who didn’t like Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.

When you think of dream jobs, the movie star is always up there with the rock star, the athlete, and the space cowboy. There can’t be many people who haven’t imagined, even for a moment, being a great actor and all the perks that would entail.

You have to go to work and get paid ridiculous money to pretend to be someone else for a while. So long in that regular old 9-to-5, right? But at the same time, it’s not all glitz, glamour, smiles and sunshine.

Like anyone, actors can be extremely critical of their work, and some of them have gone so far as to publicly express this displeasure about a number of recent films.

Sometimes, they’re perfectionists who capture (and mourn) the smallest details, while other times they just decide to tear up their entire work!

It could be any aspect of their role they’re unhappy with, whether it’s the writing, costume design and aesthetics, or – if they’re feeling particularly critical – the way they delivered their own performance.

10. Tom Holland as Nathan Drake – Uncharted

Since joining the MCU as Peter Parker, Tom Holland has become one of the biggest names in Hollywood. In addition to playing Spider-Man for Marvel Studios, he’s joined the Pixar universe, has his own Apple TV+ show, and is set to star in the upcoming Fred Astaire biopic.

His most infamous casting was as Nathan Drake in Sony’s Uncharted adaptation. Although the role was originally Mark Wahlberg’s, the film was in development hell for so long (and underwent so many changes) that Holland was eventually cast as a younger version of the iconic character.

There were many opinions surrounding his casting, with the majority not exactly positive, and the actor himself didn’t do much to help his cause. Even before the release of the film, he was downloading his own performance.

Holland said GQ that instead of focusing on the character’s real life, he was more concerned with looking cool. As long as you could see his “bulging bicep” in his action hero shots, right?
