by Stewart Cole

You do not want to miss this last year, girl.

The latest Netflix comedy, Higher yearlooks like a tribute to all the high school rom-coms that were so iconic that even today’s pop stars continue to mention them in their music videos.

Higher year sees Rebel Wilson as a teenager in the body of a 37-year-old woman returning to high school after 20 years in a coma.

She tries to regain the glory of her past and on the way, she breaks down many high school movie clichés and feeds some of them. As he gets involved in teen antics, he realizes how hollow and pretentious many things are that many associate with being popular in high school.

The movie is a crazy comedy that offers plenty of laughter. Let’s see what the internet says about the movie.

1.

An amazingly fun watch that is not only funny but also touches on some sensitive issues.

I just watched Senior Year on Netflix and I will say that I really liked it. I was worried it would be like a teenage drama. But he faced so many things and made me cry more than I want to admit. Give him a watch! #SeniorYear #Netflix

The movie is incredibly funny.

#SeniorYear is absolutely hilarious! Seeing the hot Justin Hartley thirsty for anyone is unbelievable and Rebel Wilson continues to be comic gold.

The music and the songs caused intense nostalgia in the spectators.

The music from the movie Senior Year was pure nostalgia. I laughed out loud. I miss movies like this. Just slightly ridiculous and funny and carefree #SeniorYear

I think this cameo from Alicia Silverstone made everyone think Ignorant. For a moment I wondered if this was a crossover.

His irony that @AliciaSilv is an Uber Senior Year guide at @netflix when she is a “virgin who can not drive” should be appreciated by all millennials. #SeniorYear #senioryearnetflix

I think the Britney Spears moment was perfectly recognizable.

this britney moment at #senioryear is everything. and the dad who came down and went up were all our parents 😂😂 @RebelWilson thank you for this diamond in the movie

Some deep questions that remained unanswered for the viewers to ponder.

1. DEFINITELY reacted to the fact that smartphones were one thing 2. Who kept her highlights for 20 years? 3. Why is Alicia Silverstone an Uber driver when she has a Clueless poster in her bedroom? #SeniorYear #senioryearnetflix

Zoe Chao and Sam Richardson leave the park again after a great job The Afterparty.

#SeniorYear was enjoyable and amazing in a great way. Zoe Chao and Sam Richardson are σα I totally enjoyed the walk down memory lane with the soundtrack too 💖

14.

The film dropped some sharp truth bombs.

“The perfect life on the internet does not matter if you are miserable in real life” the message in this movie is spectacular #SeniorYear

16.

Unlike comedy, justice was elusive in the film.

What I hate about #SeniorYear is that “Mean Girl” made her into a 20-year-old coma, but they never did anything with it, she had to go to jail

17.

The very funny young actors looked good in supporting roles.

#SeniorYear is a fun nostalgic journey & all casts are like young talented theater kids 🥰 so refreshing to watch
