Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us, based on the book by Colleen Hoover, has begun filming in Hoboken with more filming planned.
Late last week, several blocks of Bloomfield Street were flooded with film crews filming “It Ends With Us,” based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel of the same name. The 2016 New York Times Bestseller tells the story of Lily, a woman who moves to a new town after graduating college and meets and falls in love with a man named Ryle.
Her newfound bliss doesn’t last, however, as a blast from the past returns in the form of her ex-lover who turns her world upside down.
Lively, known for her film roles and TV shows such as Gossip Girl, will play Lily. Justin Baldoni, known for his work on the TV series Jane The Virgin, also co-stars in the film alongside Brandon Sklenar and 1923’s Jenny Slate.
The print version of It Ends With Us was a huge success, being the best-selling print book of 2022 and being on the New York Times Bestseller list for over 90 weeks. The movie version will call Hoboken home this week, with production scheduled to change later this month.
“It Ends With Us” will shoot around Hackensack in two weeks before hitting several locations in Morris County, New Jersey as production continues.
The film is the second recent production to use the New Jersey cityscape as a backdrop, as AMC recently set up shop in Hamilton Park to film scenes for their latest Walking Dead spinoff just a few weeks ago.
