At the age of 15, Channah Zeitung will make her film debut with the release of ‘Natty Knocks’ on July 21.
Channah, who lives in Carmel Valley, first came to prominence through martial arts. She is a third degree black belt and has demonstrated her skills in “Little Big Shots”.
Her other previous television appearances include the Nickelodeon series “Game Shakers” and “Danger Force.”
“Natty Knocks,” also starring Danielle Harris, Bill Moseley and Robert Englund, is a thriller about a small-town babysitter and the children she watches encounter a serial killer the day before Halloween.
The film is directed by Dwight H. Little, whose previous directorial credits include ‘Halloween 4’ in the famous Michael Myers film franchise and ‘Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home’.
“That was incredible because I got to work with very famous actors and I was stepping out of my comfort zone,” Channah said. “I got to be a new character and be in a movie. So it was a great experience. I also worked with Dwight Little, he was an incredible director who pushed his vision and came out with a very good result.”
She plays Jolie, who she describes as “very clueless, very adventurous and a bit of a rebel” who loves her brother. It was a role, she added, that took her out of her comfort zone compared to her previous TV work.
“Natty Knocks” was written by Benjamin Olson. Channah said she loved the script when she first read it.
“The film is very different,” he added. “The writer took a different spin on the film, different from any horror film you would see. And I fell in love with the Jolie character.”
Channah also said she had a great experience working with the rest of the cast, including Danielle Harris. Harris’ filmography includes several in the horror genre, including four films in the “Halloween” franchise.
“She was a mother to me and inspired me to be a better actress,” Channah said.
Channah, who still competes in martial arts, including a recent event in Phoenix, said her goals moving forward are to make more movies and become “a high-level actress.”
“I hope to star in another horror movie because I like to be scared or scared,” she said. “I like making movies because you come together as a family very quickly and you have a bigger effect.”
