In a recent interview with W Korea magazine, BTS‘small V on his upcoming solo album and more!
While posing for the cover of the magazine’s September issue, V took some time to answer questions about his daily life and what fans can expect from his upcoming solo debut.
When asked if he had vacation plans, V shared, “I’ve had a lot of time to rest [recently]so I plan to work hard from now on.”
V was then asked if he had watched any movies recently, and he replied, “I saw ‘Barbie.’ Really, really, of all the movies I’ve watched recently, it had the strongest impact on me.”
After revealing that his upcoming solo album would have a jazz influence, V explained: “I tried hard to bring out the [jazz elements] in a way that could appeal to the mainstream. It’s the kind of music you’d be better off listening to when the sun goes down, when you’re driving, or when you’re on your way home from work.”
He went on to say: “I have a lot of content [prepared] that ARMY can watch when bored. I think I’ve shot a lot of content to create a lot of different communication windows with ARMY.”
As for whether fans can expect to see the ‘strong’ side of BTS’s V in his upcoming solo debut, he replied, “No, I don’t think so. [upcoming solo album] it has some of the special color of V. I think [BTS’s V] it’s something special for me: I think V really shines when he’s with BTS, and I wanted to show another side of myself when I’m by myself, so I prepared a wide variety of new stuff.”
When asked to send a message to his bandmates as the last BTS member to release a solo album, V remarked, “Now that I’ve done it, I realize how hard the other members worked [on their own albums]. It’s not easy. But I think that actually makes it more fun. It’s new and different, and since it’s a chance for me to show ARMY new sides of myself, I think I’ll be able to sleep well at night if ARMY wants [my album]. I just hope the ARMY really likes it.”
V’s debut solo album “Layover” will be released on September 8 at 1 p.m. KST. See here his latest teasers!
