Hollywood superstar Sylvester Stallone is on the Mississippi coast this month shooting his latest action movie in Purlington and Wayland, according to local media reports.
The movie, “Armored,” centers around a father and son who work as security guards for an armored truck company. Much of the action takes place on a bridge, where the two men are cut off by a group of would-be robbers and must find a way to get off the bridge.
The film is directed by Justin Routt and also stars Jason Patric, according to WLOX.
The production company behind the film, Convergence Entertainment, has been in Mississippi for the past three months filming “Cash Out 2” starring John Travolta in Biloxi, Sun Herald References.
Filming began Thursday at a credit union in Waveland. The bridge used for the action scenes has not been revealed, although WLOX reported that one scene will feature an armored vehicle that once belonged to the city of Waveland falling from the bridge.
The crew is also looking for houses that could be used in tents and has also sent out casting calls for the locals.
Filming in Mississippi is expected to continue through the first week of October, with the film slated for release sometime in the fall of 2024.
