Olivia Colman transformed into a nun as she filmed new scenes for Paddington 3 in north-east London on Sunday.
The 49-year-old actress will play the Reverend Mother in Paddington in Peru and was seen fading on set as she headed to work.
She wore a white and blue tunic covering her hair and a wooden cross as she got into character.
Antonio Banderas, Rachel Zegler and Emily Mortimer will also star in the upcoming episode.
Banderas, 62, will play Hunter Cabot, and 22-year-old Rachel Zegler will play Gina, Cabot’s daughter.
The film is set to release in November 2024, so fans still have a full year to wait.
Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin have already been cast in the film.
Ben Whishaw will return to voice Paddington and Imelda Staunton will reprise her role as Aunt Lucy.
Meanwhile, Mortimer, 51, will replace Sally Hawkins, 47, as Mrs Brown.
Hawkins explained about moving on from the franchise, “For me it felt like the right time to hand over the reins to someone else, and you don’t get much better than the truly wonderful Emily Mortimer, she’s extremely special.
“She will embody the essence of Mary Brown and yet make her completely her own. However, I am and always will be in love with the world of Paddington.
“I already miss my family so much on and off the screen — the experience of making the first two films was truly some of the best and most creative times I’ve had in the film world.
He added: “They both gave me so much joy. I will forever hold them so very close to my heart indeed.”
Last September it was announced that Paddington In Peru would begin filming in London and Peru this year.
The film will follow Paddington as he returns to Peru to visit his Aunt Lucy, who lives at the Home for Retired Bears.
The journey takes Paddington and the Brown family on an unprecedented trajectory through the Amazon rainforest and up into the mountains of Peru.
The upcoming film was written by Paul King, who directed the first two films.
For the third iteration of the films, Dougal Wilson will take the reins as director, marking his debut.
Wilson shared: “I am delighted to be working with such a wonderful cast on the next installment of the Paddington story.
“I was already a huge fan of the returning actors, but to have Olivia, Antonio, Emily and Rachel joining them is beyond exciting.”
Studiocanal CEO Anna Marsh told the publication that “with Dougal at the helm, Paddington in Peru will encapsulate all the heart, humor and hot mess of the beloved Paddington films 1 and 2, while taking Paddington and the Brown family into one brand. new adventure”.
He added that it “seems right to welcome some new cast and locations to it — a new adventure for all of us.”
Michael Bond, author of the Paddington books, sent his bear back to darkest Peru — in 1964, when he made a trip to celebrate his Great Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday (an event featured in Paddington 2).
On his way home by boat, Paddington dreams that he is being chased by a huge cookie and has to seek refuge with the ship’s doctor.
The previous Paddington films were major grossers, with the 2018 sequel taking in $227.9 million worldwide.
And 2015’s Paddington grossed $282.3 million on a budget “in the $50 million range.”
Heyday Films will produce – David Heyman and Rosie Alison will produce and Rob Silva will co-produce.
King is executive producing alongside Studiocanal’s Marsh, Ron Halpern and Dan MacRae and Tim Wellspring and Jeffrey Clifford.
