“THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS” PREMIERE IN LONDON
Overjoyed with the news, Kareena Kapoor took to Instagram and shared some stills from the film and revealed how she always wanted to play a character like Jasmeet Bhamra. In a lengthy note, Kareena reflected on the journey of making the film with Hansal and Ektaa.
“Jas has been a character I’ve been looking forward to playing for the past 23 years, being a huge fan of the detective genre. Eastown, I was dying to be that female detective. A 25-page synopsis given to me by Hansal and Ekta, I started reading it at 1 in the morning and knew I had found the woman I wanted to be.’
He also added, “Ekta, Hansal and I set out on this journey to make a slightly unconventional film, but one with heart, a bit of a smile and oh my god, lots of tears… It played at the British Film Institute last night, and as this movie begins its journey… into the world of movies… I couldn’t be more nervous and excited as a first-time actor and producer… I feel so weird writing this but it feels so good … So I’m giving you all a taste of this gem we’ve made… in the world of Jas Bhamra. I hope Jas is not done with her journey yet, because it was a dream to continue this wonderful but strong woman, whose grief is limitless but stronger than she knows (sic),” he concluded.
Ektaa Kapoor also shared some pictures of Kareena from the film and expressed his gratitude, “London premiere. #thebuckinghammurders was overwhelming! Congratulations co-producer @kareenakapoorkhan and director saab @hansalmehta ! Thrilled #gratitude (sic)”.
Buckingham Murders marks Kareena’s debut as a producer. The film has been bankrolled by Ektaa Kapoor.
