The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in the midst of numerous restructurings amid the pandemic and the recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Now it looks like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty could be the next project to either be revised or scrapped entirely due to background issues.

MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios Co-author Joanna Robinson suggested as much while discussing author Jeff Loveness and his role in writing Avengers follow. As noted on The Ringer’s House of R podcast, via CBMLoveness is reportedly no longer involved with the film.

Check out what she shared about Loveness, who also wrote Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaremoved from the film’s production:

“I heard from someone recently… screenwriter Jeff Loveness, who wrote Quantum maniahe was supposed to write The Kang Dynasty…anyway, it is confirmed. I have confirmed that he no longer works for Marvel. she reveals.“I asked the person why, and they told me the reason they were all wrapped up in this Kang story and they’re likely to move away from it.”

It’s also no secret that the legal issues surrounding Jonathan Majors have been a thorn in the company’s side. As such, we will have to see if this story is correct and what it means for the film and the future of Marvel. As of this writing, it looks like Destin Daniel Cretton is still attached to direct, but we’ll have to see what kind of plans Marvel could have moving forward.

It’s clear that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have a lot of issues to deal with in the upcoming movies and shows. Especially with several delays on the way. For now, the X Men spin-off franchises Deadpool 3 starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is the only MCU film scheduled for release in 2024.
