Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga Animal has set the box office on fire in its opening weekend as the Ranbir Kapoor film has collected Rs. 206 crores in India in just 3 days. After opening at Rs. 63.80 crores, Animal jumped to Rs. 67.27 crores on Saturday.
According to the first estimates, Sunday’s total of Animal is in the range of Rs. 73 to 75 crores, thereby introducing Rs. 200 crore club in style. The film is set to collect Rs. 65 crores in Hindi, while the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions are looking to score in the region of Rs. 8.50 to 9.50 crores. With this, the whole for Hindi only Animal stands around Rs. 178 crores, while the Tamil and Telugu versions collected Rs. 27 crores over the weekend.
Animal it has riots everywhere and even faced maximum capacity during the opening weekend in many places. Lack of tickets among the audience will lead to a strong spillover on Monday and the film is all set to pass the Monday test with flying colors.
The Ranbir Kapoor film has done well across the board – be it multiplexes or single screens – and is a case of scaling new heights going forward. It should be noted that these numbers are coming for an A-rated film in a conflict scenario, a phenomenon that has never been seen before.
