“Jawan” Fund: Shah Rukh Khan’s latest movie Jawan is quite the rage at the global box office. The film became the first Bollywood film to cross $1 million in Bangladesh. Jawan it is also the highest grossing Indian film in the Gulf, Australia and Singapore. The Shah Rukh Khan-led action thriller has crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark in terms of gross collections at the global box office, according to film critic and trade analyst Ramesh Bala.
From this, Jawan it has earned a total of 673.75 crore in terms of gross collections at the Indian box office and 331.25 crore in terms of gross overseas collections. With this, Jawan has surpassed the record set by Shah Rukh Khan’s previous film Pathan. Jawan crossed the 1,000 crore mark within 19 days of its release, while Pathan it took 27 days to accomplish this feat.
As regards the net receipts from the funds, Jawan is all set to cross the Rs 575 crore mark at the Indian box office today. Shah Rukh Khan’s film minted Rs 389.88 crore in the first week and Rs 136.10 crore in the second week. The film made Rs 7.60 crore on third Friday, Rs 12.25 crore on third Saturday, Rs 14.95 crore on third Sunday and around Rs 5.30 crore on third Monday. It is likely to further make around 5.43 crore on third Tuesday. The film’s total net box office collection in India has reached ₹571.51 crore, according to initial estimates published on trade portal Sacnilk.
The film saw an overall occupancy of 13.70 percent in its Hindi shows on Monday. The major contributors to the film’s take are Chennai (28.25%), Kolkata (17.75%), Jaipur (16.25%), Lucknow (16.25%), National Capital Region or NCR (14.50 %), Mumbai (14.50%) cent), Hyderabad (14.50 percent) and Pune (13.25 percent).
The film’s Tamil shows had a total occupancy of 17.16 percent while its Telugu shows had a total of 16.93 percent occupancy on the same day. Theaters in Pondicherry (50%), Salem (24.67%), Bengaluru (24.50%), Trichy (22.50%), Coimbatore (17.25%), Kochi (16%), Madurai (15, 75%) , and Vellore (13.50 percent) saw the highest occupancy for Tamil shows of the film.
Key factors in JawanThe Telugu holdings are Karimnagar (42%), Vizag-Vishakhapatnam (21%), Hyderabad (19%), Warangal (18.50%), Kakinada (17.50%), Bengaluru (9.50%) and Vijayawada (8.75 percent).
Directed by Atlee, the high-octane action thriller focuses on the emotional journey of a commando-turned-vigilante bent on righting the wrongs in society. The film features Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role and Nayanthara as a police officer tasked to destroy Shah Rukh Khan’s character. While Vijay Sethupathi plays the main antagonist, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt make special appearances.
Jawan It also stars Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak Godbole, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi and Ridhi Dogra in supporting roles. The film released worldwide on 7 September in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
