Danica McKellar talks about the new Christmas movie “Swoon-Worthy.”

Danica McKellar shares her excitement about her latest Christmas movie as well as details about her faith journey.
“I really like this movie,” McKellar he said of the ROYAL DATE FOR CHRISTMAS. “It’s a royal fairy tale come true and it really is about second chances. My character is someone who has given up on love… it’s just such a beautiful story of two hearts healing each other and it’s just swoon-worthy — so romantic!”

A ROYAL DATE FOR CHRISTMAS is a light holiday film that lacks some of the plot and character development that is common for this type of seasonal film. However, Christmas lovers will enjoy the ride, which spreads Christmas cheer and emphasizes the importance of family traditions and finding joy in life. There are a few drinks of wine and cocktails at a holiday party on A ROYAL CHRISTMAS DATE, but nothing out of place overall.
When asked if it’s difficult to shoot Christmas movies during the summer months, the actress admitted that it’s definitely hot, but “with all the Christmas lights and everything, you feel like you’re getting into the Christmas spirit.”
She has previously spoken about the importance she places on making Christmas films, telling Woman’s World: “I love putting positivity into the world.”
“I think we’re modeling aspirational behavior,” McKellar said he said of her work with Great American Family. “A lot of things on TV are pretty dark. These movies show struggles and dilemmas, even frustrations, but everyone tries to solve them in earnest. You don’t see people just trying to take advantage of each other. No one wishes harm or evil upon anyone else. Everyone is just trying to do their best. It’s so refreshing.”
McKeller too shared her testimony, explaining, “I’ve been around Christianity my whole life in some way, shape, or form, but it just never clicked. And my good friend Candace Cameron Bure…brought me to church and all I can say is something happened.”
“I was overwhelmed by this love and understanding,” she said goes on. “It just dawned on me.”
The actress told CBN that she feels “so blessed” to be able to share her beliefs.
“People have said, ‘Oh, you’re so bold,'” she said explained. “It doesn’t look bold. It doesn’t feel like it takes courage or anything. … When you experience something that is so beautiful and so wonderful and so life-changing, you want everyone to feel it.”
