The year of the age gap romantic comedy is set to continue on Netflix.

The streaming service debuted the first trailer for “A Family Affair,” the new rom-com starring Nicole Kidman, 56, and Zac Efron, 36, as romantic partners.

In the film, Joey King stars as a young woman who works as an assistant to a movie star, played by Efron, and discovers that he has become romantically involved with her mom, played by Kidman. The trailer opens with King getting into bed with them before they scream, fall into a wall and pass out.

The footage then cuts to a passionate love scene between Efron and Kidman. “I went a little crazy,” says Kidman’s character. “I’m allowed, right?” Later, the two are seen sharing a romantic dinner in a completely empty restaurant, before King’s character bemoans their “gross sexcapade” and declares that it is “not Jack and Rose” from “Titanic”.

The trailer touts “A Family Affair” as “a love story about everyone and their mother” and notes that it comes from the producers of “Anyone but You,” the hit romantic comedy starring Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney.

“A Family Affair” was directed by Richard LaGravenese, whose previous films include “The Last Five Years” and “PS I Love You.” Also starring Kathy Bates and Liza Koshy. Efron and Kidman previously played lovers in 2012’s The Paperboy, directed by Lee Daniels.

“A Family Affair” will be released on Netflix on June 28.

The film will arrive on Netflix this summer following the Prime Video romantic comedy “The Idea of ​​You,” which similarly depicted the relationship between a woman, in this case Anne Hathaway, and a famous younger man, played by Nicholas Galitzine.

Speaking to USA TODAY, Hathaway said she liked that the central relationship in “The Idea of ​​You” provided “hope and this exploration that your life is yours and you should enjoy it and only you know how it goes ». He added, “Perhaps one of the signs of maturity is being able to define your life for yourself.”
