Dave Bautista has come a long way since his days as a pro wrestler (although he still pays tribute to Signature WWE move in his moves). In the last decade, Bautista has given a number of outstanding performances through films such as; Guardians of the Galaxy and Blade Runner 2049. And, in 2023 alone, he starred in three major productions, which is incredibly impressive. It also has a few titles that are currently available Film schedule 2024. Despite the fact that there are already so many great movies under the leadership of Bautista out there, it seems that the protagonist still feels “unfulfilled” as an actor. And, frankly, his reason for this is understandable.
The 55-year-old star recently promoted his latest endeavor – listing his 2024 film schedule My Spy: The Eternal City. While chatting with ET, the A-lister not only discussed the film, but also got candid about some of the internal challenges he’s struggled with professionally. He’s certainly accomplished quite a bit during his time working in the Hollywood system, though it seems he’s got a few other goals in mind:
I feel unfulfilled as an actor. I have goals in specific areas. I want to be an actor from A to Z. I want to be in every genre. There are still some I haven’t gotten into, some boxes I haven’t checked. But I also haven’t gotten that role that’s just this deep, dramatic emotional role. [That’s what I’m] I’m looking, so I feel very unfulfilled.
So all in all, the former Drax the Destroyer actor wants to dip his toes into a lot of different genres. Since he’s an actor, it’s only natural that he wants to help tell a huge range of stories. However, I would argue that the humble wrestler turned movie star is being a little too hard on himself. His filmography is already full of films belonging to different genres. The 007 spy thriller Ghostthe drama of martial arts Master Z: Ip Man Legacy and the mystery comedy Glass onion are just some of the titles on this list. And, in 2023, he starred in the science fiction film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3psychological horror film Knock on the cabin and animated fantasy epic The boy and the heron. Well, the actor certainly existed, but his perspective speaks of his discipline and humility.
There are indeed some career milestones that Dave Bautista has yet to reach, however. Something he still seems willing to do is land a directing gig. During his chat with ET, he was candid about why he’s still so eager to sit in the big chair at some point:
I’m a total control freak, so I want to direct. I want to direct shows and I want to make my own film.
Considering how thorough the Army of the Dead The star he’s proven to be, it’s not hard to imagine him starring in a movie. I for one hope he gets the chance to do so at some point. What he would definitely excel at in this position is working with actors, as he would certainly be able to empathize with his stars while they deal with the finer aspects of creating a show. Seriously, can Hollywood make a movie with Dave Bautista at the helm?
More recently, Dave Bautista has had his hands full with acting. Having already starred in this year’s Dune: Part Twolooking for two more 2024 releases – The killer game and The Last Showgirl. From there on it has the post-apocalyptic action movie After burning and other projects on the horizon. I love that the WWE alum is keeping busy, but I also hope he finally finds the fulfillment he’s been looking for.
