Vicky McClure will join Jodie Comer Madeleine Hyde’s Last DisturbanceKenneth Branagh’s new film.
The project, which was previously announced in May, is described as a “modern psychological thriller”, although plot details remain scarce as Branagh aims to build on the success of Belfast and A Haunting in Venice.
According to DeadlineMcClure has now signed up for the film alongside a host of big stars, with Patricia Arquette, Michael Sheen, Tom Bateman, Michael Balogun, Kristina Tonteri-Young and Karla Crome joining Comer, Aiysha Hart and Gemma Whelan previously announced.

With the project still somewhat under wraps, McClure’s role – as well as the others – is of course unknown, but more concrete details could be forthcoming soon as production is now underway in the UK.
McClure, who appeared in Line of Duty and Broadchurchrecently headlined the Paramount+ show Insomniain which her character looks into the past after struggling to sleep ahead of her 40th birthday.
In an exclusive interview with Digital spyMcClure shared her reasons for joining the series, explaining, “First and foremost, it’s something I would have watched. I read it and I was like, Oh, I would have watched it and I was like, “I wish I was in that.”
“Two, I think Sarah [Pinborough]His writing was simply extremely legible. Just go, this is something very well developed. And the brotherly relationship in reality. It was really nice to see something that capitalized on that in such a big way.

“I have a sister – a very different relationship than Emma (McClure) and Phoebe (Leanne Best) have. But my sister, I can’t live without, so there’s this really interesting relationship. I liked that and felt like I could bring something to it.
“I turned 40 last year, she was turning 40 on the show. I was like, “this is a sign.” And then just the general difference in the tone of the show and a character I haven’t really played before or in a long time.”
