Today we share the news Kraven the Hunter caravan and poster from Sony’s latest must-see movie at SSMU. By SSMU, we mean the official name of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which these days just means taking Spidey villains and making them heroes in their own movies. The latest to receive the treatment is Kraven the Hunter, played by rumored new James Bond Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
I never see this in theaters, but the trailer doesn’t look too bad below.
The problem with SSMU films is that they can cut a good trailer. However, they don’t seem interested in cutting a good movie, unfortunately. The model is simple from Sony. Make a cheap movie using a character that Marvel fans have heard of. Cast actors that agents don’t know the difference between MCU and SSMU. Cross your fingers and hope you make a meager profit. The last movie Madame Web bombed hard.
There are some rumors that this particular entry is not as bad as some of the previous ones. However, I would wait until release before considering any word of mouth.

Deadline posted an article about Kravens delays and replays yesterday.
“[Kraven the Hunter‘s] The delays allowed Chandor to sharpen the characters and tighten the plot, as well as some strategic iterations that were effective. After enduring a failure with Madame Webthe SPE brass is optimistic that Craven will be more in line with her Poison movies.”
Director JC Chandor said, “I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve all done together on Kraven, and when the film finally gets a chance to be released, I think it’s going to surprise a lot of people. As for what’s next for me, as always it’s up to the moviemaking gods.”
Kraven the Hunter takes names in theaters from December 13.
