Sony Pictures has finally released the new trailer for the much talked about Spider-Man: No Way Home after several days of accumulation and reported leaks. The trailer stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, William Dafoe and others.
The trailer begins with Peter dealing with the consequences of 2019 Spider-Man: Far From Home, in which Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio revealed his secret identity to the world. So he turns to his own Avengers Doctor Strange’s ally for a magical help, as a result of which Peter’s identity was never revealed. But, as Peter soon learns, arguing with magic and scheduling can have devastating consequences.
The trailer teases the return of some celebrities – including Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, but it also gives a better look at some of the known enemies. Alfred Molina and Willem Dafoe returned, reprinting their roles as Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin from Tobey Maguire respectively, as well as Jamie Foxx’s Electro, which debuted under Andrew Garfield. The trailer also teases the first look at Thomas Haden Church Sandman Spider-Man 3 and Rhys Ifans’ Lizard from The Amazing Spider-Man.
On Tuesday night, Holland surprised fans at an event in Los Angeles, showing the trailer for the first time and teasing There is no way home as “the most cinematic and theatrical superhero film ever made.”
“This is not just the culmination of my time at Spider-Man,” Holland told the audience. “We have bad guys from three different universes, who repeat their roles, bring them back to life. “For me as an actor and as a huge fan of Spider-Man, it was a huge pleasure to play in this film and work with these legends.”
After the trailer was over and the lights were on, the visibly excited Holland took some time to gather and thank the fans for their excitement, wiping the tears from his eyes. He thought about how his life had changed since he got his first cast at the age of 18 and how he remembers standing in his garden and receiving a call from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige telling him he had taken the role.

During a joint Q&A, Holland remained closed, avoiding spoiler questions, but hinted that the trailer was just “the tip of the iceberg” and that “there’s so much more to this movie.” He also spoke of the fight against Molina, calling him “one of the greatest people I have ever worked with”, and admitted that he fully understood the first time he met Dafoe, instinctively thinking, “My God, he is the Green Customs. “
Spider-Man: No Way Home Directed by Jon Watts, it is set to hit theaters on December 17.
