Most of us have a laid back attitude when it comes to painting a picture about ourselves. Being able to engage in these moments without sinking into the deep allows for this adrenaline rush that so many of us crave when we watch a horror movie, without making us feel like we want to curl up in a ball and cry uncontrollably.
Horror movies often have to balance delving into these more extreme horrors and watching – or at least those that do well in the box office. Sometimes, however, even the most mundane horror movies can surprise us with something completely miserable.
In lists like these, the same movies tend to appear: A Serbian Film, Saló, Antichrist or The Girl Next Door. Do not misunderstand me, these are indeed very disturbing and deeply upsetting, but since these films have been in the spotlight for a while, I thought we should discuss some lesser known ones.
For this list, you will consider movies that have been released in the last decade, with some well-known movies and some indie gems being woven as well.
It goes without saying that this list may contain topics that some readers may find annoying.
After the 2017 installment of the Saw franchise disappointed fans of the epic (and the casual viewers who came in for good horror and received nothing of the sort), people were moderately optimistic about the 2021 film.
The movie with Chris Rock at the helm turned out to be another disappointment for many, but there was a special moment – whether this moment was enjoyable or not, however, is a matter of debate.
The first trap appears in the opening scene, which set the tone for the film, which unfortunately was not followed up. However, it is a hellish trap, and probably one of the most horrible Saw traps in the entire series.
Detective Bozwick is in a trap after chasing an ordinary thief at a festival, where he stands in a chair in a subway tunnel with his hands behind his back. Oh yes, and his tongue is in an evil. Due to his corrupt nature and his false language, the designer of the trap saw (pun) it was right to remove the offensive instrument.
The sequence that causes the stinging that follows is extremely inconvenient to watch, with incredible special effects that make this look very real. You can practically touch
the tearing of the tissue. Bliach.
