Timo Tjahjanto will direct the remake of Train to Busan entitled Last Train to New York

Hidden in a story about an upcoming restart of the 1992 Steven Seagal action vehicle Under siege, Deadline has revealed that Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto will direct a remake of Train to Busan called Last train to New York. While the details remain hidden, the new name at least gives the destination.

In the authentic Korean hit Gong Yoo starring Train to Busan, starring a couple father and daughter traveling by train from Seoul to Busan. Unfortunately, a zombie outbreak traps both of them and their passengers on a one-way train that leads to hell as they are forced to repel the zombies within the confines of a high-speed railroad track. Depending on how faithfully the American remake follows this plot, Last train to New York seems to be changing destination in New York. Since it takes about three hours to get from Seoul to Busan by train, a similar route to the United States means that our heroes could travel from Washington DC or Boston, which takes four hours.

Tjanjanto is a talented action and horror director with titles that include films such as The Night Comes For Us and Let the Devil take you, makes him a good choice for a Train to Busan remake. The original Train to Busan released in 2016.
