Matrix Resurrections is one of the most anticipated movies of the year and its fantastic trailer has fans excited and asks questions in a true Matrix fashion. The film is only a few weeks away from being available for viewing and is preparing for its release on December 22 with some super cool promotional images. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been confirmed to play Morpheus and look cooler than ever in the last Matrix Resurrections picture.
Matrix Resurrections seems to continue and restart the franchise at the same time, and the most obvious proof of this is the cast of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Morpheus. The film restarts the franchise in some ways and restarts one of its iconic characters, acquiring one of the best actors available for the role. The latest image of Morpheus’s new look is amazing has the excited fans who see him in action in the movie. Here is the post from his Instagram:
The elegance you would expect from a Matrix The film is fully projected with the image of Morpheus and Abdul-Mateen II shows the role in a truly stunning costume holding weapons while, of course, running against a wall. The original Matrix The films were revolutionary with their action and stylistic choices. Resurrections seems to continue this trend with some graphics out of this world unlike any other movie coming out.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II addressed taking over as Morpheus after Lawrence Fisburn, saying that the new film provides a new narrative that makes a new Morpheus possible. Fishburne has been asked if he would return since the film was released, he was not sure why they did not bring him back. With Resurrections assuming a new wave begins Matrix movies, there is always the possibility that Fishburne could return in some capacity as literally anything is possible with these movies.
Morpheus is not the only character with a new look, with Keanu Reeves having long hair as seen in new poster for the movie, in what would be a very different Neo compared to the originals. The film seems to have some lighter moments in the trailer that gives a slightly different atmosphere to the original, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stated that there are some comic elements of the film.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has some important upcoming movies comes out to stack on top of an already growing portfolio of big movies like this year candy man, including the upcoming Aquaman 2 and of course, Matrix 4. Warner Brothers is open for more Matrix movies, and we hope that the film responds to the advertising campaign so that we can get more out of Abdul-Mateen’s Morpheus and all the comebacks and new characters that the film promises.
