We haven’t heard much about Universal Orlando Resort’s new Epic Universe theme park in a long time. After the third gate was put on hold at the height of the global pandemic, we were given the impression that the construction may not restart for years. We have since learned that Epic Universe is it is actually moving forward, and the latest update will be very good news for Harry Potter fans as some new licenses have been submitted that seem to have to do with the new land of Wizarding World.
Both existing Universal Orlando Resort theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, have areas dedicated to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and were originally rumored that Epic Universe would acquire a themed land. the most recent Fantastic Beasts movies, more recent indications show that the earth will be more oriented in the Harry Potter era to match the other parks. And this new site is obviously moving forward, as some licenses have been filed in Orlando that align with what is believed to be the new Wizarding World site.
The first licenses related to the real Epic Universe park have been submitted for a while in Orange County! These are related to projects for Project 905, which is believed to be the land of Wizarding World. It is for Building 1620, which had been registered in previous licenses as “a walk-through building”. pic.twitter.com/rzpBMXYfjlNovember 29, 2021
Alicia Stella Orlando Park Station, specialist at Universal Orlando Resort (and Pied Piper of PizzeRizzo) has published these licenses which it says are for construction in the Epic Universe area which is expected to be home to the new Wizarding World area. While the Epic Universe is still moving quite slowly, considering all things, these licenses are the first momentum we have seen in a long time. Perhaps it is an indication that work on the park as a whole will proceed.
Of course, with the fact that the plot has obviously undergone something like a major overhaul, far from the planned Fantastic Beasts The question of what this construction really is is a little less clear.
An expected attraction is a walk that will put guests in a natural broom, as well as in a set of VR glasses, for a broom riding experience. That was part of the original idea for the earth when it was still Fantastic Beasts, and while the history of the route will change, the basic mechanisms are expected to remain.
The Epic Universe is still a few years away of course, but it is much closer than that we once thought it would be. And perhaps this is the beginning of real progress. The longer anything new lasts, the farther away the park is.
The only part of the new theme park that has ever been officially confirmed The Orlando version of Super Nintendo Land. Beyond that, while we have some pretty credible rumors, nothing has ever been confirmed, so anything can happen. Any of the areas mentioned above can be drastically changed or completely dismantled for something new.
