“Everything Everywhere All At Once” by The Daniels – Deadline

All Everywhere Simultaneously, the upcoming sci-fi adventure by directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert — collectively known as Daniels — opens the 29th SXSW Film Festival on March 11, the South by Southwest Conference and Festivals announced today.

The film, which is making its world premiere in Austin, focuses on an exhausted Chinese-American (Michelle Yeoh) who does not seem to be able to finish her taxes, also starring Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, James Hong, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr. . and Jamie. Lee Curtis. Kwan and Scheinert co-produced with Jonathan Wang, AGBO and A24 of The Russo Brothers, with Ley Line Entertainment, IAC and Josh Rudnick in charge.

“We’re excited to premiere Daniels’s latest work, which is fantastically inventive, fun, emotionally grounded and full of great creativity that makes their work so satisfying,” said SXSW Film Director Janet Pierson. “The audience will be captivated by this extraordinary feat of cinematic creation.”

Daniels made their feature-length directorial debut with the 2016 comedy Swiss army man, starring Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe. They are perhaps best known for their music videos, including DJ Snake and Lil Jon ‘s single “Turn Down for What”, which won the 2015 SXSW Jury Grand Prix for music videos. The directors previously won the 2012 SXSW Grand Jury Prize for music video for “My Machines,” their video for the experimental rock band Battles.

SXSW will announce its full film schedule on January 11, which will take place in person from March 11 to 2022, with selected films also available online to silver holders. More information about the festival can be found here.
