“Spider-Man: No Way Home” premiered Monday night in Hollywood and across the country in various press releases. I watched a news conference on Monday night, and here is my immediate reaction to the film.
What happens in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”?
The story of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is quite simple. Taking place after the events of “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, when Peter Parker (Tom Holland) was released as Spider-Man, Parker seeks the help of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to make a spell that will overturn this situation. . But things go wrong and soon the Spider-Man villains from the past – namely, old bad guys from Tobey Maguire “Spider-Man” and Andrew Garfield “The Amazing Spider-Man” – show up to confront Parker in Marvel. Cinematic Universe.
Thoughts on “Spider-Man: No Way Home”
There is no doubt that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is brutal. It’s a shocking movie that brings viewers to the ring. Do not enter this movie expecting to feel anything.
It’s easily the best of MCU Spider-Man movies. It does not slow down at all and keeps you investing all the time. There are some tough times to remind yourself of what happened before, and there aren’t as many light moments as the previous Spider-Man movies. But it works very well as the final film of the MCU Spider-Man trilogy.
It’s exactly what you would expect it to be and exactly what you do not expect it to be. That is all I will say for now.
Is “Spider-Man: No Way Home” a mess?
One of the biggest concerns in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” was the idea that it could become very messy. Like the 2007 movie “Spider-Man 3”, this new movie featured several Spider-Man villains as well as new heroes and characters we have never seen before at MCU. Spider-Man with Doctor Strange and a gang of thugs is a lot for a movie, right?
Well, I’ll say this – the film does a better job of managing its characters and story than I thought it would. Everything gets the right time and attention with some heavy pieces everywhere. The film could have taken another five minutes to wrap up some yarn, which says something about a 2.5-hour film.
Need to see “Spider-Man: No Way Home”?
Any Marvel Comics and Marvel Cinematic Universe fan will enjoy this movie.
But if you know nothing about Marvel, it can be a tricky blockbuster to enjoy. Yes, there are typical battle scenes, crashes, battles, drama and everything that accompanies an important movie. But the nostalgia caused throughout the film will not work for those who know nothing about it.
It’s the must-see movie of the winter season without a doubt. It will break you, unite you again and break you again. But it’s a movie that reminds us of the power of storytelling and the importance of why we watch movies – they show us the traps we go through and how we get out of them, like an amazing and friendly heroic spider.
