Wrestling actor Sangram Singh and producer Vinay Bhardwaj allegedly cheated on a Sector 38 woman by luring her to invest ₹30 lakh in a Bollywood movie
A resident of Sector 38 (West) claimed that she was deceived by the actor who became an actor Sangram Singh and his producer Vinay Bhardwaj ₹30 lakh in the name of creating a movie about cricket superstar Sachin Tendulkar.
Acting on a complaint filed by Iram Khan, a Sector 38 (West) resident who has now relocated to Delhi, police recorded a case under Sections 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (fraud) of the Indian Penal Code. Code at Maloya police station, after preliminary investigation.
The woman, in her complaint to Senior Police Inspector (SSP,) Kuldeep Singh Chahal, said that Sangram Singh Chaudhary and Vinay Bhardwaj had charmed her to invest in their upcoming film “God of Cricket”. He claimed he had the assurance that a famous Bollywood producer would help them, and then invested ₹30 lakh on July 20, 2019. Khan claimed that the defendant neither released a film nor returned her money.
Khan had told police she had met the accused through one of her acquaintances in Delhi and the deal was later finalized in Chandigarh after which she made the payment.
It can be mentioned that the movie “God of Cricket” is a movie that celebrates the cricket fandom of Sachin Tendulkar. Sangram Singh starred in the film which is co-produced by Vinay Bhardwaj.
The investigation into the complaint was marked by the SSP to the Inspector of Police (SP, City) Ketan Bansal about four months ago and the case was registered after the interrogation.
“We would soon call the accused for an investigation,” said a senior police officer, who did not want to be named.
Direct contact with Sangram Singh and Vinay Bhardwaj was not possible.
