Actress Priyanka Chopra and singer’s husband Nick Jonas announced their nominees for the 2021 Oscars in London last year. While their fans were excited to see them together on their TVs, few were a little less happy.
Australian journalist Peter Ford questioned Nick and Priyanka’s qualifications for the same. “No disrespect to these two, but I’m not sure their contribution to the films allows them to announce Oscar nominees,” he wrote in a tweet. Priyanka did not take it lying down. She shared an on-screen recording of her filmography with more than 60 movies on IMDb. He wrote, “I would love your thoughts on what qualifies for someone. Here are my 60+ movie credentials for your expert attention @mrpford.”
Now, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Priyanka said that the episode upset her. “I’m not usually angry, but that made me angry,” he said.
Priyanka also spoke about recent rumors of an alleged rift between her and Nick, sparked by her decision to remove ‘Jonas’ from her Instagram name. He denied the rumors, flooding them with arrogant comments in Nick’s posts. However, he said that being on social media also has disadvantages.

“It’s a very vulnerable feeling, in fact, that if I post a photo, everything behind me in this image will be magnified and people will guess,” Priyanka said. “It’s just an occupational hazard.” Due to the noise of social media, due to the prevalence in our lives, I think it seems much bigger than it is. “I think we give him a lot more credibility in real life and I don’t think he needs that,” he added.
Priyanka later said she removed Nick’s last name from her name just to make her handle match what she has on Twitter.
