The film is the official Hindi translation of Keigo Higashino’s most acclaimed work, The Devotion of Suspect X. Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma will also reportedly play key roles. It is ready to go on the floors in March of this year.
The latest report states that the cast will start workshops soon. If things go as planned, they will head to a hill in West Bengal next month, where the film will be shot on a schedule from start to finish.
Interestingly, when Sujoy announced the film in 2015, he chose Saif Ali Khan for it. Although the film did not materialize, it did not leave the story. And now, seven years later, the project will begin with Saif’s wife, Kareena.
Higashino’s novel revolves around an unmarried mother who accidentally kills her ex-husband. The actress is believed to have already begun preparing for her character in the film.
Meanwhile, Kareena is waiting for the release of “Laal Singh Chaddha” co-starring Aamir Khan in the lead role. It is scheduled to hit theaters on April 14, 2022.
Apart from that, the actress also has her untitled work with Ekta Kapoor and Hansal Mehta. He also participates in the magnum opus of Karan Johar ‘Taht’.
