Bryce Hall heads to the big screen.
On Wednesday, April 13, Deadline reported that the social media influencer has been selected in a new production titled Skill House, a horror film that sees TikTok culture through a creepy, satirical lens. Directed by Josh Stolberg – the director behind a thriller like Spiral: From the Book of Saw – Skill House will explore how far influencers will go for internet fame.
“These social media personalities are the new Hollywood and they are reinventing what it means to be a star,” Stolberg said. Deadline. “When a young kid from Maryland, like Bryce, with nothing but a cell phone and a call light, can attract tens of millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram, it equals the playing field for everyone. But there is a dark side to this new entertainment landscape and I’m excited to turn this rock upside down. “
“The film will be a ‘hard R’ horror film and will have a tough approach to what it takes to succeed in a business based on what your fans ‘like’,” he continued.
As for the location of the shooting of the project? Well, it will return to the Bel-Air mansion that was once known as Sway House, of course. (If you need a refresh, Sway House was a Los Angeles-based creative team that included Bryce, Noah Beck, Blake Gray, and others.)
Skill House This is the first time Bryce has played a leading role, but it is not his introduction to the silver screen. ICYMI, made a (super) short appearance on the rom-com of the former Addison Rae That is all. He has also appeared as himself in a handful of works such as e.g. Jawline.
Production is scheduled to begin in June, and although no official release date has been set, it is scheduled for release in early 2023, Deadline. So it seems that we are only a year away from meeting Bryce Hall, the Big Time Movie Star.
