With the NFL Plan 2022 Finally, it’s time for some movie theaters in this year’s rookie class. I will try to reach out to all the players and some UDFAs in the coming weeks. There are obviously a million spy profiles out there, so that’s just my opinion, but I tried to back up basically everything I said with movie clips. I’ve watched a lot of all22 on several beginners, but I can not share these clips on my own Twitter accounts (or risk being blocked), so I’ve used a few other accounts here. Let’s go!
Strong points
+ Impressive lateral movement and range for large TD, can close external routes. He is a great defender.
Walker creates a lot of impasses along the LOS, he could probably get out of the way sooner, but he’s a good spokesman. Holds the ground and does not let the back come out. Jordan Davis 99 is also a dude. pic.twitter.com/OpBj6ObA9I

+ Fast legs, moves like a man much lighter. Sports are out of this world for someone of their size.
The way he bends for a great defensive tackle is crazy. This rush looks like a bigger defensive EDGE lined up in an obvious pass situation! I can not believe that some people do not see the potential he has as a passerby. pic.twitter.com/Unu0hLwKCD

+ Just huge frame and strong anchor.
+ He has real power and will lead the lineman back to the fourth, especially in the rare case where he is not double.
Just a few clips of Jordan Davis why … Why not? I watch him a lot since the draft and the power whenever it does not get double is so easy to spot. This is what QB nightmares about. Just pure power and strength in appearance, pushing the bumper back into the QB pic.twitter.com/rjGRTYZbZl

He was basically unblocked with 1 OL this game. He steadily pushed the guard / center back to the QB and won a lot in the run game as well. It should almost certainly be double team many times. pic.twitter.com/F4p8MOWpNh

Almost none of the works I have published appear in the box score, but the talent is so obvious. Speed, power and the first step just jump off the screen when you watch it. pic.twitter.com/F6q3kYNNjI

When do you see him go backwards when he is blocked by a single OL? Even when he does not necessarily win right away, he always pushes the OL backwards it seems pic.twitter.com/CWp2yY5Y4O

+ Can “stack and drop” offensive linear and make them look silly sometimes. He can throw the aggressive lineman with crazy power
+ Does he ever miss a tackle? When he holds you in his arms, he seems to be done.
Just handling LG in this game. He pushes him back easily, has his eyes on his back and then just stops his back completely from gaining extra meters due to his strength. He is a top defender. pic.twitter.com/i0OwlYuBwp

Another underrated part of his game is his tackling power. Does he ever miss a tackle? I did not see any. When he catches an RB in his hands, they seem to fall down and rarely fall forward for extra meters pic.twitter.com/Ed5OonB9J4

+ He has an irrational ability to shoot through the gaps when he is not asked to do 2gap considering his size.
This first step and the ability to overcome the gap is quite absurd given the size of a player. If not held here, there is a good chance that the QB will hit in less than 2.5 seconds. pic.twitter.com/zLZS11GTG4

Look at the speed to throw the gap when he has the opportunity to do so !! Put this man in 3rd and long duration a few times and just let me see what he can do! When he is not playing 2 gaps, the speed to shoot through a gap is absurd … pic.twitter.com/uXayqrH7fe

Seriously, look at what happens when he is told to ignore 2 vacancies and just go up fast. Just look at the first step explosiveness and power! pic.twitter.com/QrCWAi9o6I

He does not tackle here, but I’m almost sure they read EDGE’s defense, but end up reading Davis because he’s so fast to beat OL that he looks unblocked lol pic.twitter.com/KKSHJd3HWi

Believe it or not, it can really chase the QB when they try to play out-of-structure games.
The power to fly the OL is quite impressive … But see how it moves when chasing the QB! Looks like a giant EDGE defender! pic.twitter.com/4PxVoKy1bQ

Weaknesses
FYI – Many of the weaknesses are very difficult to see in the movies because they have nothing to do with what he did on the field, but more with what we did not see.
– His biggest weakness is the preparation and whether he can handle more snapshots. We all know by now that he only played 38% of the snaps last season and obviously we need him to play more.
– Limited passes in a hurry, I did not have the opportunity to see him ignore his responsibilities and take back the fourth in the 3rd fall.
– It does not have as constant inner impulse as you would expect from a man of his size. He plays high and loses the leverage battle from time to time.
Any worries other than the obvious (lack of snaps / 3rd down) … I noticed that he plays very high sometimes and when he loses the leverage you can see him being pushed back. His anchor is usually quite strong unless he is playing high. pic.twitter.com/dmw10vrev

In total
Jordan Davis is an absolutely exciting player to watch and watch as he progresses. You all know how athletic he is and how good his measurables are, we will not go into that here. I just want to focus on the tape and what I saw from it.
Those who criticize him and call him an early defender are absolutely right. He just did not have the opportunity to play in 3rd down steady that is when you can ignore the responsibilities of the gap in the running game and really win the general. He just did not have the opportunity to do that. Whether this is because he can not do it or because he can not play so many snaps due to a fitness problem, I do not know. However, from his tape, I find it impossible to believe that someone with his first step and power can not contribute to rushing situations that proceed.
Jordan Davis will be extremely important (literally) for the defense of the Eagles that are advancing. We know that Gannon wants to play very well with 2-high safety and we know that means lighter boxes and this will lead to the attack that runs the ball. That’s why having a key DT that can play a role in stopping running is so important in the modern NFL. Even if Jordan Davis never develops his momentum and only plays in the first downs, it could be absolutely vital for the Eagles to move forward.
I think Davis will enter the NFL as a very good starter in the early games. I do not think it will take long for Davis to be considered a top defender at an early stage. It’s not a complete project and it needs a little training, but the talent springs to the cinema and you can clearly see its elite characteristics, in terms of speed and power of a man of this size.
As for the fact that we will promote him in front, I believe that he will have the opportunity to play in 3rd falls as he progresses throughout his career. I think he will have the strength and speed to take on an offensive guard and I think the teams will immediately want to double him, which will help release the other tackle defenders and give the EDGE defenders a one against one abroad.
Davis is one of the most exciting defenders to enter the league in a few years and I’m excited to see him evolve for the Eagles. I think there are some reasonable concerns for him as a player, especially his lack of playing time and whether he can handle more snapshots, but the positive is high.
