MI! to debut original Rom-Com movies in 2023, will create new shows without script

by Stewart Cole

MI! enters the original television movie business.

Cable television NBCUniversal has announced plans to start programming original romantic comedy films by 2023. The network has commissioned six films, although no further details on the films were immediately available.

The transition to movies made for TV on the network comes amid a changing tide in the world of cable and line-up TV channels. NBCUniversal and other old-fashioned multimedia companies are shifting significant resources in their streaming efforts, leaving observers wondering what the future holds for traditional networks like E! will be. Hallmark and Lifetime have both had great success with their own original films over the years. The Paramount Network was also set to become the home of the weekly original films, although Paramount eventually abandoned these plans.

MI! continues to build its non-script bids as well by adding several new shows. These include “Celebrity Beef” with presenter and executive production by Joel McHale, “Black Pop” production by Stephen Curry, the travel series “Anthony Anderson and Mom: European Vacation” and “Raising a F *** ing Star “. You can find full descriptions of the new performances below.

New E! Shows without script:

“ANTONY ANDERSON AND MOM: EUROPEAN VACATION” (WT) – PREMIERES 2023

Anthony Anderson owes a lot to Doris’s mom. She gave up her own dreams of becoming an actress to raise him. As a token of his appreciation, he takes his mom on a life journey – a six-week tour of Europe to discover some of the continent’s wonders and experience a real, cultural vacation. However, spending this quality time will be a real test for their relationship, as the couple disagree on almost everything.

From the producers of “Starstruck”, “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”, “Breeders” and “Flatbush Misdemeanors”, this series offers chaos, comedy and a lot of emotion as they tour both Europe and their relationship – all in one touching, fun and memorable mother / son European road trip.
