It was a Hollywood movie Jurassic World: Dominion which had the best collections for the day as 9.50 crores * more were released. The film did well on Thursday with paid previews and then went on to bring numbers on Friday. Now, with the rise of pedestrians on Saturday, the trend is right as it could easily have fallen even a little lower. This is usually the case with Hollywood versions with events that open at 25 crores or more, but because the numbers here were less than Rs 8 crores, the momentum was there. The film is now Rs 21.25 crores.

Among the traffic in Hindi, it is Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 again this brings out the best in the numbers. Although the movie is in its fourth week, it is doing better than all the other movies currently playing, either Samrat Prithviraj which is in its second week or in a new release Janhit Mein Jaari. On Saturday, it saw further increases in numbers to bring it to 3.01 crores. This is very good as now the total has reached 167.72 crores, which means that the life numbers of Baaghi 2 [166 crores] have been surpassed in just 16 days, and there are so many more.

Samrat Prithviraj remains low with 2 crores * coming on the second Saturday. The film had started to shrink on weekdays, so the writing was clear on the wall. The kind of numbers that come in now is not at all strange, although it is definitely disappointing, as there were many. The film has grossed 58.65 crores * so far and one can well expect that Akshay Kumar will now have moved on to the next set of his big films. Will have to answer again with Raksha Bandhan, OMG – My God 2 and Ram Setu the next one should sort out all the noise.

Concerning Janhit Mein Jaari, saw a good increase in numbers with Rs 0.82 crores * l crores coming, although overall there is nothing substantial about the result. At just 25 1.25 crores, the film is being played on a very limited number of screens and performances and one can expect to see what Sunday will be like.
