From getting married to Alia Bhatt to announcing his family, Ranbir Kapoor has been making headlines for quite some time now. Currently, the actor is awaiting the release of his film Shamshera and is busy promoting it. In it, RK finally breaks his silence on the South vs Bollywood debate as he shares his take on ‘Pan-Indian films’.
For the unfamiliar, Shamshera is all set to hit the theaters on July 22, 2022. For the first time, we will see RK in a double role in a film.
Coming back to the topic, in a recent interview with IndiaToday.in, Ranbir Kapoor who arrived for the promotion of Shamshera spoke about the term Pan India film. Talking about this, the actor explained how he felt that all films released in Bollywood can be considered as a Pan India film and that the very term Pan India film will fade like any other term in Bollywood. The actor said, “I think every film is a pan-Indian film. The story of the movie, if people like it and many watch it, then it is known as a pan-Indian movie. When a director makes a film, he tries to reach as many people as he can. If your film is strong and the story is strong, then it will not just be a pan-Indian film, it will be a worldwide film.”
Ranbir Kapoor also continued, “We have heard such terms in the past too which have faded away like the Rs 100 crore term. So now pan-India is a new term. If you make a good film, be it short or big, the audience will see the film.”
Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera will release on July 22, 2022 and will be directed by Karan Malhotra. Ranbir will be seen alongside Sanjay Dutt, Vaani Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla, Ashutosh Rana and many others. Apart from this, the actor will also be seen in Brahmāstra on September 9, 2022. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and stars Ranbir alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni.
