Paramount+ follows the birth of an instant-classic American song.
On July 19, the streaming service will be added The Day The Music Died: American Pie in its content, a documentary after the birth of the iconic American Pie song by Don McLean. The show features interviews with Garth Brooks, Brian Wilson, Peter Gallagher and McLean himself, among others. McLean released the original song in 1971.
“The History of America – Our Past and Our Future. More than a song or a man, this film is about a cultural moment in American history that has followed us since the 1970s. With a new generation of artists, inspired by the same values and ideas that inspired Don McLean to write the American Pie – one of the great musical touchstones of pop music and culture,” reads the synopsis.
