Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva is a labor of love for director Ayan Mukerji. Since the release of the movie, the director has often treated the audience with some interesting BTS stories. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, in front of of Brahmastra OTT version, Mukerji decoded Ranbir Kapoor’s song “Deva Deva” for fans.

Ayan told us, “From the beginning, we’ve been calling it Shiva’s fire training song because that’s where he comes into his own. And it was one of the five sequences in our film.” Continuing further, he added, “I always wanted it to be very visually beautiful and have a very nice spiritual chart that Shiva goes through in the film. And I feel very proud of what we have achieved “Deva Deva”.”
The Wake up Sid The director candidly revealed that the song has been shot through several different schedules of the film in Bulgaria, Manali and different sets in Mumbai. He elaborated, “there are two things we had to bring to the song. One is that we had to create this magical fire and the way it moves. And as soon as we moved on from the fireball we came to a spot that was like circles of fire. This stuff, we couldn’t create it, or we couldn’t simulate it. So it was created completely from scratch.”
He also discussed his challenges Brahmastra the team encountered during the shooting of the song on the blue screen, which was shown as the backyard of the ashram in the film.
Brahmastra started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from November 4 onwards.
