The movie ‘The Owl (literal translation)” starring Ryu Joon Yeol and Yoo Hae Jinhas garnered a lot of attention even before its release and is expected to be one of the most successful films released this year.
“The Owl” follows the story of Kyeong Soo (played by Ryu Joon Yeol), who is a blind acupuncturist who suffers from hemeralopia, or day blindness that allows him to see in the dark but not in the day. To earn money to support his younger brother, Kyeong Soo enters the palace as the royal acupuncturist. Then one night, he witnesses the assassination of the crown prince, which drives King Injo (played by Yoo Hae Jin) to madness. With the king hunting the killer, Kyeong Soo is driven to uncover the truth behind the crown prince’s death.
The newest film is a historical thriller based on real people from history but retold from a different fictional perspective. With a solid plot and impressive cast members, the film has caught the attention of many avid fans and film critics.
Even three days before the premiere, ‘The Owl’ reached number 1 on the box office booking list.
