Andy Muschietti – the director behind this summer The lightning – has offered a new look at the Central City setting in a cryptic social media post.
The highly anticipated solo film for The Flash by Ezra Miller it’s only six months, and with that, the DCEU will soon return to Barry Allen’s hometown of Central City – a location that’s already been heavily explored CW’s The lightning series.
The previous set photos gave a brief look at some of what Central City has to offer, which even includes a bus featuring Gal Gadot’s Wonder Womanprovided it makes the final cut of course.
So far, the iconic DC location has only been visited a few times in this universe, mostly in Justice League in which Ben Affleck’s Batman visited to recruit Miller’s Allen to his team of superheroes.
Ahead of the June release, who is also expected to return in Michael Keaton’s Tim Burton-created Gothamthe director behind the film took to social media to continue his promotion The lightning.
The Flash Director Showcases Central City Set
The lightning director Andy Muschietti undertook to Instagram to share a new photo from the set of his upcoming film DC speedster move.
The photo shows the director holding a Flash lightning emblem, seemingly on the set of Central City, and is captioned “Central City at midnight #theflashmovie.”
However, when the post was first created, it was simply tagged “Found this. #theflashmovie.”
What is the Flash Director Tease?
As there are currently no indications of further iterations in progress The lightningAndy Muschietti’s latest post is likely from an earlier point in production, either during principal photography or last year’s pick-up shots.
But one has to wonder why the director just made his first Shine-related Instagram post since then first footage from the film debuted during DC’s 2022 slate trailer – so the speedster movie was all set to release last year.
This is also the first photo he’s shared since the original production wrapped in October 2021, so what’s going on here? Well, either the surprise reruns are now underway, or the marketing for the film is set to ramp up immediately.
The Wrap previously confirmed that Warner Bros. will do first Super Bowl appearance in 17 years this February with a trailer for The Flash who will then play ahead of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
So in the coming weeks, Warner Bros., Andy Muschietti and the rest of the team will be on the warpath to build excitement in anticipation of the debut trailer, which will likely lead to an extensive four-month marketing spree.
The lightning hits theaters June 16.
