Yash Raj Films’ Pathandirected by Siddharth Anand has passed Baahubali: The Conclusion to become the number one Hindi film of all time in India after its collections rose again on its sixth Friday! Talking about its collections, in India, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer earned Rs 1.07 crore yesterday. Meanwhile, it has also registered $47.04 million in the overseas territories alone, while the net collection in India stands at Rs 529.96 crore. The total worldwide gross is a whopping Rs 1028 crore. Among many others, Baahubali Producer Shobu Yarlagadda has also reacted on the achievement of Siddharth Anand’s directorial venture.
On Saturday, Shobu Yarlagadda took to his official Twitter handle and shared a tweet, which read, “Congratulations to @iamsrk sir, #SiddharthAnand @yrf and entire team of #Pathaan for clearing @BaahubaliMovie 2 Hindi NBOC. Records are meant to be broken and I’m glad it was none other than @iamsrk to do it!”
In response, Yash Raj Films wrote from its official Twitter handle, “Nothing more exciting than seeing how Indian cinema flourishes!!… Thank you @Shobu_ for giving us a landmark film like @BaahubaliMovie directed by the visionary @ ssrajamouli – has inspired us to work harder,” followed by a red heart emoticon.
Earlier in the day, PathanIts director Siddharth Anand had also reacted to the same. He had said, “This is incredible Pathan it is now the number one Hindi movie in India today! The love and appreciation he has been showered with Pathan from the public is historic and it shows in the box office result. As a director, I am proud to have made a film that has entertained people worldwide.”
For the unversed, released on January 25 this year, Pathan marked SRK’s return to the big screens. Apart from him, the film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles.
