Viewers of the trailer for Jennifer Lawrence’s new movie No hard feelings have criticized the significant age gap in the film.
In the new film, Maddy, 32-year-old Lawrence’s character, is in need of cash and is recruited by two parents to seduce their “grumpy” 19-year-old son.
The synopsis for the film, which stars Andrew Barth Feldman as the son, reads: “On the brink of losing her childhood home, Maddie discovers an interesting list of jobs: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to date her their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, before he left for college.
“To her surprise, Maddy soon discovers that clumsy Percy isn’t sure.”
In response to the trailer, many viewers shared their discomfort with the age gap between the two actors, with one writing: “First off, I love Jennifer Lawrence so don’t get me started. But a thirty-two-year-old woman being compensated to “date” and “go rough” with an eighteen-year-old boy?
“Everything with mom and dad’s okay. I wonder if it would be just as ‘funny’ if it was a 32-year-old man and an 18-year-old girl.”
Another added: “That Jennifer Lawrence trailer. What the hell is this; A kid’s parents are embarrassed that he’s an introvert, so they hire JLaw—who’s twice his age—to bone him up. That’s the premise, right?’

This Jennifer Lawrence trailer. What the hell is this;

Elsewhere, Lawrence recently revealed that she was pressured to lose weight when she was cast Hunger Games.
The actress, who had her breakthrough role as Katniss Everdeen in the action film franchise, recalled being encouraged to slim down for the role during a chat with Viola Davis for Variety Actors On Actors Series.
“In Hunger Games, it was an awesome responsibility,” Lawrence said. “These books were huge and I knew the audience was kids.
“And there were so many different opinions on what this basically action figure would look like for kids? I remember the biggest conversation, of course, this was before MeToo and I’m a woman, so it was weight. How much weight will you lose?’
