DEADPOOL 3-star Ryan Reynolds Says Movie Gives Hugh Jackman ‘Something Completely New To Play’ As Wolverine

Despite saying goodbye to the character in 2017 LoganHugh Jackman is set to reprise his role as Wolverine Deadpool 3 alongside Ryan Reynolds. Based on how the cast is starting to take shape, the film will be set at Fox’s X Men Universe, though we’d be shocked if the Merc with the Mouth doesn’t eventually find himself part of the MCU.

During a recent interview, Reynolds was asked about Jackman’s social media posts that showed the Australian actor preparing to re-glaw Wolverine. He is in terrific form and the pressure is on now Deadpool star to continue!

“I’m trying… Hugh Jackman is a beast, you know? He’s clearly obsessed with his body.” Reynolds joked. “So keeping up with someone who is so diligent is going to be difficult.”

As for what it was like to bring the actor back to his most famous role, Reynolds added: “It’s been fun. I mean, he and I are really excited. We’ve been wanting to do this for a decade. So to have this opportunity now, I think weirdly, is the perfect time. I mean, no I never stopped. I’ve just been bugging him like a gnat for the last many years. I believe in timing…and I think he was ready.”

“I think he was excited” he continued. “And what we presented him with was enough of a departure from the character he knows and the character he’s left behind that it gives him something completely new to play and something he’s really excited to do.”

We expect to eventually see Jackman suit up as Wolverine, of course, while various rumors have Logan and Wade Wilson traveling across the Multiverse with TVA in hot pursuit after the latter’s tumult in time. Deadpool 2.

As for Jackman, there are rumors that he will stick around for a while, possibly with a role in Avengers: Secret Wars.
