Directed by Shoojit Sircar, Ayushmann and Yami Gautam starrer ‘Vicky Donor’ raised a subject as sensitive as sperm donation and was declared a super hit. Made on a meager budget of ₹5 crore, the film went on to collect a whopping ₹65 crore.
In a conversation with Yami a few months ago, Yami recalled the time when she felt lost right after the success of her first film.
“Right after my first film, actually right after the success of the film, I felt lost… I didn’t know which way to go.. I couldn’t connect with the opportunities I was getting at that time.. “I’m out of a job or I’m taking advantage these opportunities and I keep trying’, all these thoughts were lingering in my head…it took me a while to figure myself out and how to channel my voice’ Yami said ‘I had to reinvent myself to understand what is my purpose in coming here and leaving my city,” he added.
In the coming months, Yami will be seen in ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ opposite Prateek Gandhi and ‘OMG 2’ opposite. Akshay Kumar.
