Randeep took to Instagram and posted some pictures of Sarabjit. In one of the pictures, he is seen smiling and hugging his sister Sarabjit Singh.
“Today marks 10 years since we lost Sarabjit Singh, the struggles and hardships you faced can never be forgotten. I feel extremely lucky to have met Dalbir ji, an iron lady who fought against the entire system for her brother and very grateful to receive her love which I will cherish for life. #Sarbjit,” she wrote.
Hooda played the lead role in the movie ‘Sarabjit’ released in 2016. It is said to be one of Randeep’s best performances.
The film was a biopic about Sarabjit Singh, a farmer residing in Bhikiwind, Punjab, near the Indo-Pak border, who crossed the border into India after having a few drinks. However, he was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991. He spent 22 years in prison for alleged terrorism and espionage.
He died in a hospital in Lahore after being attacked in prison by other inmates, with bricks, sharp metal sheets, iron bars and blades.
The film also stars Aishwarya Rai as Dalbir Kaur (Sharbjit’s sister), Richa Chanda as Sukhpreet Kaur (Sharbjit’s wife) and Darshan Kumar as Awais Sheikh (Sharbjit’s lawyer).

Randeep fulfilled the promise as he attended Dalbir Kaur’s funeral and performed the last rites. Dalbir Kaur died of a heart attack in Bhikhiwind near Amritsar, Punjab.
