Kashmir Files, released on March 11, has received 250 crore at the box office and became one of the biggest hits of recent times. The film is based on the departure of the Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley in the early 1990s. Starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar and others. Given its heavy subject matter and lack of big stars, most marketers did not expect the film to do as well as it did.

Abhishek’s praise for the film’s film’s praise came during one of his commercials for Dasvi’s upcoming film. In the video, part of an interaction with the Times Now Navbharat, Abhishek answered a question about politics and cinema and said: “You’ve been talking about The Kashmir Files. Whatever you say, you want to politicize it, you want to communicate it, that is the freedom of speech and opinion, but if the film was not good, it would not have worked. There is no other reason why it is “You can make a lot of other meanings and wavy effects. The bottom line is that it has to be a good movie.”

Abhishek then clarified that his opinion is not based on personal experience as he has not seen the film but from interactions with others. “Again, I’m not in a position to say why I’ve not seen the movie. But I’ve not met anyone who says it’s a bad movie. That’s the only true movie. If a movie does a good job, it has to “It’s a good movie,” he added.

Vivek Agnihotri shared part of the interview on Twitter on Friday, while writing, “Thank you @juniorbachchan for your kindness.” Abhishek even responded to Vivek’s tweet and promised to watch the movie soon. “I look forward to seeing the film at the earliest. Best wishes,” Vivek wrote in response.

Abhishek Dasvi’s next film also has political overtones. It revolves around the story of Ganga Ram Chaudhary (Abhishek), a political “anpadh, corrupt and dil se desi” who finds a new challenge in prison: education. The film also stars Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam. Produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films, Jio Studios and Bake My Cake Films, Dasvi will be released on Netflix and Jio Cinema on April 7.
