Adam Sandler’s new movie is filming in Oakville

Hollywood has once again come to Oakville: last week, movie star Adam Sandler was confirmed to be in Oakville filming his next movie for subscription entertainment service Netflix.

Production began on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in Oakville with scenes shot at Film.Ca Cinemas, a regular first-run theater. Moviegoers on June 28 (the day before the shooting) confirmed that some areas of the theater had been redesigned with new signage and props.

Since then, Sandler has been seen in the greater Toronto area shooting additional locations for the film, including in Milton, Mississauga, Brampton and downtown Toronto. Filming is expected to continue through the summer.

The film’s working title is SO you’re not invited to my bat mitzvah!which is based on Fiona Rosenbloom’s 2005 children’s novel of the same name.

No release date has been set for the film yet. SO you’re not invited to my bat mitzvah! It is produced by Sandler’s production company Happy Madison Productions.

This isn’t the first major movie shot in Oakville. in addition to hosting the famous scene since 1994 Santa Claus with Tim Allen, scenes for the upcoming Slumberland with Jason Momoa filmed in the city just last summer 2021.
