Rohit Shetty’s film Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, is broadcast on the OTT Netflix giant. The film began airing on Netflix almost four weeks after its release in theaters. The film was released on Netflix despite its box office success. The film managed to collect over 190 crore by Thursday. The official Instagram account of Netflix India shared a video, in which Ranver Singh is heard saying his dialogue “Akkhi public ko malum hai kon aarha hai, tumko nahi malum“from the movie Sooryavanshi. Then Akshay Kumar enters the frame and says:Ruk, ye Ranveer ke pet me kuchh rehta hai nahi; Ab tak kahan pata tha public ko ke hum Netflix pe arhe haiHe then announces that the film is being released on Netflix.
The caption to the video shared by Netflix India read: “Akkha public sunlo, Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, is now airing on Netflix. “

Sooryavanshi opened to very mixed reviews from film critics. In his review of Sooryavanshi for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote: “To conclude, the $ 1 million question: is Sooryavanshi the movie the doctor ordered for the Bollywood era after the pandemic? The answer is: well, almost. “
Sooryavanshi is the fourth film in the Rohit Shetty police universe. Ranveer played a police officer in the 2018 film Simba while Ajay Devgn starred in the police series Singham. In Sooryavanshi, Akshay played the leading role of Veer Suryavanshi, a character who was introduced as an Officer of the Counter-Terrorism Team (ATS) in a small role in the 2018 film Simba, starring Sara Ali Khan. Katrina Kaif starred as a doctor and Akshay Kumar’s wife in the film. The film was produced by Karan Johar Dharma Productions.
