Director Aanand L Rai’s upcoming director, Atrangi Re, starring Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush, took to the floor in Varanasi in March last year. The team continued filming in Madurai in October 2020 and followed a program in Delhi. Now, the manufacturers have decided on a digital release. After much speculation around the film, they choose the Disney + Hotstar premiere. The announcement was made on November 23, 2021. The trailer will be released tomorrow.
In the meantime, the creators shared the first looks of the stars. Akshay Kumar shared the first glances from his characters, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush. Presentation of Sara as Atrangi No. 1, wrote, “Ek ladki… pyaar mein paagal ️ ️ Miliye Atrangi No. 1 Rinku se kal.”
While presenting Dhanush as Atrangi No. 2, wrote, “Meet the iss love story ka Atrangi No.2, naam jiska hai Vishu!”
Introducing his character, he further added, “An Atrangi story about the madness of love. Adding magic to this story is truly yours!”
This marks the second OTT release of Akshay Kumar since Laxmmi, Posted by Sara Ali Khan Coolie No. 1, and the same for Dhanush’s post Jagame Thandhiram. Meanwhile, Akshay is next with Aanand L Rai, that is Raka Bandan, is scheduled to hit theaters on August 11, 2022.
Directed by Aanand L Rai, Atrangi Re presented by Bhushan Kumar T series, Color Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films. The screenplay is by Himanshu Sharma. Conductor AR Rahman has composed the album for the film with songs written by Irshad Kamil.
