Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga made his film debut with the Telugu film Arjun Reddy in 2017, which starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles. The film was an instant success. The Hindi remake of this movie titled Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead cast, became a surprise blockbuster as it earned Rs. 278.24 crores.

Vanga’s next Hindi venture Animal, which released earlier this month, has surpassed his previous film by a huge margin entering the rare Rs. 500 Crores Club. The Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor starrer has so far earned a mammoth Rs. 514.09 crores in just 17 days. This also ensured that Vanga debuted in the rare Rs. 500 Crores Club. Moreover, he achieved this feat in his second Hindi film and third film overall.

The other movies on the list include; Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Pathan, Gadar 2 and Jawan. Interestingly, out of the five films that reached Rs. 500 Crores Club (incl Animal), four have been released this year. That speaks volumes for how strongly mainstream Bollywood has bounced back this year after a lackluster 2022.
