Anna Kendrick’s new movie Absolute parliamentary majority will be available to watch in the UK very soon.
The comedy thriller, written and directed Young girl Starring Jake Johnson (who also stars), it is set to be released on August 9 exclusively on the Paramount+ streaming service.
The film was released on Hulu in the US earlier this year on January 12th after a special one-day theatrical release.
The cast also includes Brooklyn Nine-Nineby Andy Samberg, Schitt’s Creek star Emily Hampshire, Dead to me Natalie Morales and Back to the Future icon Christopher Lloyd.

Absolute parliamentary majority follows Tommy, a middle-aged man who is invited to play a game where he can win a million dollars on a reality TV show on the dark web.
He only needs to survive for 30 days while a group of assassins (called “hunters”) from around the world attempt to kill him. However, Tommy finds a loophole in the game – hunters can only attack him when he is alone.
He only needs to be surrounded by others to avoid death and win the game. However, his friends and family don’t believe the game is real, so Tommy is forced to find other allies.
Tommy finds another player (played by Ana Kendrick) and they decide to spend every moment together so they can survive the twisted game and win the money, growing closer in the process.

The film, which premiered at South by Southwest (SXSW) in March 2023, has a 73% rating on Rotten tomatoes (from 59 reviews).
Absolute parliamentary majority is Jake Johnson’s feature directorial debut. The actor is best known for his role as Nick on the hit Fox TV show Young girland recently starred in the now canceled HBO Max show Wagtail.
Johnson also voices Peter B. Parker Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versebut has yet to be confirmed to return for the expected third installment Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
