There was a good booking on Tuesday for Bad News as the film ended up collecting Rs. 3.80 crores. On Monday, the film had grossed Rs. 3.75 crores at the box office, so the fact that there is virtually no drop on Tuesday shows that at least in some segments, there is genuine interest in watching the film.
One can attribute it entirely to BOGO, but that’s not really the case because in the past many movies adopted this strategy, but it didn’t really work. The films failed to attract audience to theaters despite BOGO offer or Rs. 100 ticket and what now. However, just in case Bad News, has worked well with the result that the collections have remained stable. Of course, if the collections were above Rs. 4 crores mark on both Monday and Tuesday, then it would have a good ring to it. However, the film is marginally below that mark and that would be the target for today and tomorrow as well.
The romcom has now reached Rs. 38.17 crores and would close the first week at Rs. 46-47 crores range. Again, after a very good opening weekend, a half-century in the first week itself would have been fantastic, but now that number would have been reached by Saturday. A lifetime of about Rs. 65-70 crores is a possibility now and anything beyond that would be an added bonus.
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
