Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is now streaming on Netflix and the film sees the return of Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc. Who loved Knives out he probably wasn’t too surprised Glass onionconfirmation that Craig’s character is queer. The new movie featured one amazing performance by Hugh Grant as Blanc’s boyfriendand while Craig has said he doesn’t want Rian Johnson’s movies to explore too much of Blanc’s personal life, we may see Grant again in the future. According NetflixJohnson would feel “lucky” to have Grant back an upcoming Blanc mystery.

“I will say this, first of all, I should be so lucky to get this actor back in a murder mystery,” Johnson shared. “Well, we’ll see. But I also feel like, if that happens, it would be a lot further down the line because I feel like it’s important to put the guardrails in place. And the guardrails for me is that every one of them has to do with the mystery It’s not about the detective.” Johnson added of Blanc, “It’s not about who he is or where he comes from. He can’t be the star of it… He has to center around the mystery. And the detective is only interesting from the point of view of the role he plays and the story we tell.” Johnson continued with a smile: “Look, I don’t know, man, I’m a liar too… And if something makes me laugh, I’m bound to at some point. We’ll see.”

When we talk to ComicBook.comCraig explained why Knives out The films should not focus too much on Blanc’s personal life.

“We don’t really want there to be too many,” Craig explained. “That’s what we want. I mean, I think, in the sense that the more mystery that can remain, the better it is for the narrative. It’s less about him, it’s about the suspects. It’s about the protagonist of the story and how he hopes to understand the premise. And, you know, we see in this film a technique. We saw in the last film, a technique, and [Rian Johnson]I’ll have to think of another technique. I think his story, I don’t personally care what happened to Benoit Blanc when he was 10 years old, but you know, I’m sure somebody can make it up and I’ll be like, “Yeah, that’s it.” ”

However, Craig and Johnson were certainly excited by Grant’s appearance.

“Yeah, obviously it is,” Johnson previously confirmed at the London Film Festival (via Knowledgeable) when asked if Blanc is queer. “And there’s no one in the world that I can imagine that brings me more joy for Benoit Blanc together,” Johnson shared. Craig added: “No spoilers [but] who wouldn’t want to live with that person?’
