A new report provides an update on John Cena’s latest film.
John Cena is set to star in the movie “Coyote vs. Acme” alongside Will Forte, but the film’s release seems to be up in the air.
On Thursday, November 9, Warner Bros. announced that the film has stopped despite already being completed. The film was originally greenlit for the company’s HBO Max streaming service in December 2020.
In a press release from the company, a spokesperson for Warner Bros. said they made the difficult decision because they weren’t focused on theatrical releases. As a result, the studio is set to receive a $30 million tax write-off.
On Monday, November 13, Puck News provided a new update, noting that the studio has actually reversed course on the situation.
Warner Bros will now allow the creators to shop the film to other studios, including Paramount and Universal, who are reportedly very interested in the film.
John Cena last appeared on WWE TV at the Crown Jewel event where he lost to Solo Sikoa. This appears to be his last appearance on this run after the SAG-AFTRA strike ends on November 8, 2023.
WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on the “Coyote vs. Acme” movie as they become available.
