Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said his radio program is the ‘mann ki baat’ of millions of Indians and an expression of their sentiments.
“Today is the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat. I have thousands of letters, thousands of messages. I’ve been trying to get through more and more of them. I was moved reading your letters on many occasions, I was carried away by emotions and then kept myself. You have congratulated me on the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat, but all the listeners, our countrymen deserve congratulations. Man Ki Baat is the “Man Ki Baat of millions of Indians and the expression of their sentiments,” PM Modi said.
Speaking on the occasion, Dixit said, “He (PM Modi) takes time to understand the problems of common people. This is awesome. It’s about people in small towns and villages who are doing such good work and people don’t know about it. So it brings such people in front of all citizens and they get world recognition, which is amazing. I’m sure it will inspire many young people.”
“Modi ji wanted to stay connected with the people, I think that is the mark of a great leader. All the greatest leaders in history, whether they are Kings or Prime Ministers, have always remained connected to the people. There can be no deeper connection than that, to be able to speak your mind and listen to people’s words, to be able to convey your words to them. I felt very lucky to be invited here. It is a privilege to be here,” Kapoor said.
Director and producer Rohit Shetty said, “I felt inspired, if a leader can show us the right path, then nothing is impossible. When I was watching I felt how lucky we are to have such an inspirational leader that people listen to, that they are inspired by, which is very rare.”
Meanwhile, singer Raageshwari, who attended an event in London, UK, said, “I think it’s fantastic. Waking up at 4am, getting ready and coming here – absolutely fruitful…I think it brings the country together, but it also motivates young people…”
Launched on October 3, 2014, the program has become a key pillar of the government’s citizen outreach program targeting multiple social groups such as women, youth and farmers and has spurred community action.
